Knitting kit - Johanne Sweater by Mette Sandgaard Kühl (Aria)

Johanne Sweater is a simple raglan sweater with neck, body and sleeve edges formed by horizontal stitches and a hole pattern. The sweater has reverse knitting at the neck and is knitted from top to bottom. The sweater can be knitted in two settings, where the first setting of 14 stitches and 22 needles measured at 10x10 cm gives a slightly tighter look in the knitting, while the second setting of 12 stitches and 20 needles measured at 10x10 cm gives a slightly softer look.  At the same time, it gives a greater span in possible overwidth.

Oversize:
Option 1 on needle 5.5 mm (14mx24p): approx. 100 (103) 106 (108) 111 (114) 117 cm

Choice of size: The design can be knitted with a "regular" fit (room for movement of approx. 7-15 cm) or more oversize (room for movement of 15-35 cm). For example the light gray one has a movement space of 20 cm.

Knit strength:
Option 1: 14 stitches x 22 rows in stockinette stitch measured 10 x 10 cm knitted on needles 5.5
Option 2: 12 stitches x 20 rows in stockinette stitch measured 10 x 10 cm knitted on needle 6

The sample is knitted in a pattern, washed and blocked for final measurement. The 20 stitches horizontally are measured in the stockinette. (Note that the hole pattern is knitted from wrong side on the sample, i.e. you must knit two wrong sides together)

Guiding sticks: Circular needle 5.5 mm or circular needle 6 mm (40 and 80 cm)

Yarn: Aria (Baby Alpaca/Merino) from Lana Gatto (125 meters / 50 g)

Yarn consumption: 300 (350) 350 (400) 450 (500) 550 g Aria

Yarn alternatives:
The sweater can also be knitted in one strand of Smuksak Samay or three strands of Lana Gatto Silk Mohair. Remember to make a knitting test so that you reach the right knitting strength.
