If you e.g. must achieve a knitting strength of 21 stitches x 28 rows in stockinette stitch on needle 4 mm per 10cm, you must make a knitting test where you cast on 21 stitches on the recommended needle size. Feel free to cast on extra stitches to create a retrill edge on the sample. We recommend 3-4 stitches for each side. Then you knit 28 rows + edge stitches, after which you wash and block the sample flat. When the swatch is dry, you can use your frame and see if the stockinette area on the swatch matches the frame.
